Many mistakenly state that Zoroastrianism influenced Judaism, but I propose that the written scriptures influenced those who heard or read about God’s presence as a fire. The Jewish influence on others cannot be ignored.

Unfortunately, the book series only had 1,000 sets published for universities, and my copy of the Persian Shah Nameh was marked #81 of the set. I obtained this copy of the Persian classics in a random meeting.

Often images determine purpose. Artifacts and images found in an ancient city often dominate the impression of what life was like previously. On a four-day visit to Afghanistan in 2006, I made a one-day journey to the area. Heading out alone presented risks, so my contacts repeated the maxim to return before dark. So, I found a local van that took me from Mazar Sharif to the ancient town of Balkh.
