God is God, and he can declare His Oneness the way he wants! Confusion about God’s Oneness often leads to irrationality. Is Oneness numerically or a Unity of Persons? Let’s consider the absurdity of God’s Oneness.
The Absurdity of God’s Oneness reveals the difference between the Trinity and the Absolute Oneness of Islam. So, when Christians talk about the Trinity, most Muslims find the perspective absurd. The irrationality continued in the distorted facts presented by numerous viewpoints that do not resemble Christianity or Islam.
Questions to Consider
- Why does each side misunderstand Oneness?
- How can we explain the difference better?
Christianity and Islam come from two different perspectives concerning God’s Oneness. Unfortunately, Christians often neglect to stress the Oneness of the Trinity in responding to Muslims, leading to further ambiguity.
Same Word – Different Dictionaries
The necessity in the consistency of the terms and definitions confronts each of us. When we say the Trinity is One, and they say Allah is One, it lands on different pages. Thus, an Absolute Oneness is just that – he is alone, without another. The Muslim’s Oneness is absolutely isolated, while the biblical God is absolutely in a Trinity of Oneness – not alone but divine persons in an eternal relationship. The view on Oneness determines each perspective’s beliefs, faith, and worldviews. So, our dictionaries differ in how one defines oneness.
Apparently, exclusivity appears within both systems, so the understanding of God’s Oneness in Christianity or Islam becomes either its foundational belief or the blasphemy of the other. These exclusive markers become the initial openings for both, yet closes the door for the other. No wonder the two faiths often disagree.
The Absurdity of God’s Oneness will initiate an understanding of the Trinity’s Mystery.
